I really want one but the almost $32.00 S&H has caused me to go without. 😳
The Hasty Snake worked very well on its first run of brisket and pork spare ribs. I highly recommend this if you use the snake method.
I hadn't tried the snake method before getting a Hasty Snake, but I'm totally sold. Before this I haven't been able to get my Legacy down to low and slow temps, but this made it easy For my first trial (comp briquettes with apple wood chunks) I originally went conservative and started with the large deflector and water pan, and amazingly the temp at the grill surface (Thermoworks Smoke) plateaued at 156F. I took out the water plan and deflector to raise the temp, and it never got higher than 244. I stopped my cook after 3 hours and had probably another ~3 hours of charcoal left. Just amazing.
Item works good. Not sure if it’s really needed. I am new this this style of cooking and I am inexperienced. I will learn more as I cook more in my HB.
I love my HB Legacy so far. I Only have 3 cooks on it so far all using the snake. All cooks went very well,
I had tried a few homemade solutions similar to this with mixed results. This new Hasty Snake was just what I was looking for. Great for those low and slow bbq cooks over a long period of time. Helps keep the fire from running away from you.
